Texas State Technical College Harlingen published admissions policies consistent with its Expanded Statement of Purpose that states that the "college promotes access to higher education through open admissions to the institution" [Ref 1].
Vice President Servando J. Villarreal [Ref 2] is the administrator responsible for overseeing all admissions policies. He coordinates with the Director of Public Information, Alice Green, to ensure publication of all policies through appropriate resources.
As an open admission institution, all admissions policies are consistent with this reference as stated in the Expanded Statement of Purpose. System Policy SOS #ES.4.07, "Admission of Students," [Ref 3] outlines the criteria that apply to an open admissions institution, as well as distinct processes through which the open admissions criteria is applied. This policy supports the expanded statement of purpose in that the "college promotes access to higher education through open admissions to the institution, as well as basic skills studies that equip students to succeed in college courses." [Ref 1]. Applicants to TSTC Harlingen must meet one of the following criteria in order to obtain admissions to credit courses:
- Be a high school graduate;

All admissions policies and procedures are published in the TSTC Harlingen Catalog [Ref 4], the Student Handbook [Ref 5], TSTC Course Schedules [Ref 6], and on the TSTC Harlingen Admissions and Records web site [Ref 7].
